Teen Creeking Camp Development Values.
With a core competency for decision making skills teen kayakers will learn whitewater waterfall techniques, advanced river running skills, canyon and swift water rescue on Pucon Chile’s best rivers and waterfall features. Ultimately, we want teens to learn how to establish values based principles for decision making. Kayaking is a great platform for the life lesson. Of course, students will be challenged as the program fosters safety lessons and applications with each session.
The Fun Part. Pucon is geographically speckled with whitewater drainages. And your base hosts the world’s best kayakers seeking to hone their whitewater skills. Whether you want to master your big water boof, gain confidence running class IV, run your first waterfalls, or stick a Cobra-flip (first hit on the Paluin) we have the features to match and challenge you safely.
Can I Stay Longer? Yes, students may opt for trip extensions for up to a 4-week program. We know that students develop skills fast if they have access. So, we want to give students every opportunity to improve and master skills on safe and challenging rivers and features.
Is It Safe? Camp begins with lessons in safety protocol and each session incorporates a safety application. Possibly, the most valued lessons are our modules on values-based decision making and growth mindset. Its no surprise that Pucon Kayak Retreat has a perfect safety record.
Steep Water Rescue. Students will participate in rescue scenarios within the Palguin Canyon. This training exercise is designed to give students confidence in decision making, learn how to handle stressful situations, and become competent leaders.
Typical Day. After breakfast students have morning kayak theory class which will be lessons in safety, technique, mental game, and various development modules. Most river days consists of two river destinations. Travel days are long days to destination rivers or waterfalls. Afternoons are filled with games (bacci and spike ball), exploring Pucon, dinner, and video review.
Can parents attend? Yes, but Pucon Kayak Retreat only accepts guests of our normal all-inclusive kayak or adventure trips. If your parents are interested to kayak or adventure in Chile then we’re keen to offer them a one of a kind adventure vacation. Email David@PuconKayakHostel.com to learn more.

Are You Ready to Kayak Pucon Chile?
Pucon Creeking is an intense place. Access requires hot hiking. It’s a best idea if you come to Chile in shape with your hiking legs ready. Passing and lifting kayaks, strenuous hiking into and out of canyons, and water dehydrating hikes are a mandatory part of the trip. On the water… that is both the fun and easy part.
We recommend before your trip that you kayak or become part of a normal hiking or workout routine. Workouts like Crossfit… we love them. Yes, get in shape it will help your confidence as you paddle too.
