The lodging at Pucon Kayak Hostel is open from October 1 – May 1 and it is as varied as our guests. We have a little of something for everyone – private rooms with their own bathroom, shared dormitories, forest camping, cozy eco-domes, and one-of-a-kind gypsy wagons just above the river.
Communal space is abundant indoors and out — all centered around our open-air quincho, which serves as the perfect place to gather at the end of a long day to meet new people, eat great food, share stories, and relax by the fire with a glass of wine or cerveza.
The Quincho at Pucon Kayak Hostel
All PKH guests have access to our shared amenities including a treehouse shower, movie dome, work area, food and storage lockers, gear hanging stations, laundry service, and game center. Don’t be intimidated by our name – Pucon Kayak Hostel is open to everyone, including non-kayakers.
THE TREEHOUSE SHOWER*
* highly recommended
Have you ever taken a shower in a tree? Neither had any of us until now. The treehouse shower at Pucon Kayak Hostel is surrounded by all the sights and sounds of the forest. The private outdoor structure is huge and includes two shower heads that provide a steady stream of warm water. Light some candles at night as you wash off days of travel. Drink a beer while cleaning the stink of dirty kayak gear off your body. We don’t judge. What happens in the treehouse shower stays in the treehouse shower.
“Everyone secretly, deep down, wants to get naked outside. Those showers are ahhhh-mazing.” – Anonymous
If you are in Pucon to rock climb, mountain bike, trek, fish, swim, vacation, or simply just passing through on your way to other South American destinations – we warmly welcome you. We may be gear obsessed kayakers, but we are also family-friendly, pet-friendly, environmentally conscious, bilingual experts with a lot of experience living and traveling in Chile.
